What to expect from Lakeway Tech Coach

All coaching sessions take place in person to ensure you receive maximum value through one on one attention without distractions.

Which technologies do you work with? 

Lakeway Tech Coach provides one on one coaching on how to use your smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer, smart TV, and more! Common coaching topics include how to use popular applications/software and maintain settings on those devices. Coaching is also available for specific small business needs, including how to use specialized applications, online marketing and CRMs.

Where do we meet?

You may have already guessed thanks to our name, but Lakeway Tech Coach operates primarily around the Lakeway area in zip codes 78734 and 78738. Coaching sessions can take place in the location of your choice, whether it is a public location, in your office or directly in your home. For new clients, we recommend to meet in a public location on the first visit, for example at the library or a local coffee shop. If you are located outside of the primary service area, please contact us to determine if we can assist you (subject to an extra trip charge). 

 What will we do during the session?

That is completely up to you! The first step is to determine which device you would like to go over, for example iPhone, Android Phone, iPad, PC/Mac Computer, Kindle, Apple TV, etc. You may want to write down a list of questions you have or issues you have faced while using the device ahead of time to make the most of your session. If you are brand new to the device, we can start at square one with the basics and general setup. Please keep in mind, the goal of the session is for you to learn how to use technology and feel confident in doing so. It is your coaching session, so feel free to ask for things to be repeated, speak up, slow down, etc. 

How do I book an appointment?

Please contact us to initiate your first appointment. You should receive a response within 24 hours. 

How much does it cost?

Lakeway Tech Coach rates start at $50 per hour for a private, one on one, personalized coaching session. One additional person may be included in the session for an additional $5 per hour. However, because each individual has a different learning speed and experience level, we recommend that the coaching session be one on one if possible. Specialty sessions for small businesses may incur a higher rate depending on the complexity and duration.

Are there options for low income seniors?

Yes! The Lake Travis Library offers free periodic technology classes taught by volunteers and high school students. Laura Suelberg is one of the volunteers at the library. 

My device/internet/printer doesn’t work anymore, can you help?

Maybe – there are many reasons why technology stops working. It may be an easy fix in the settings, the device could simply be dead or it may be a problem with your service provider. Lakeway Tech Coach can help diagnose an issue during a coaching session, but depending on the root cause you may need to seek more specialized repair or replacement afterwards. Lakeway Tech Coach is not intended to be a repair service – our goal is to empower you to learn and use technology to your advantage.
